Are Fortnite and other battle royale games dead? This question is the focus of many people talking lately, as we always hear voices saying that the popularity of these games is like a boom that quickly disappears and disappears, as happened with Overwatch or Pokemon Go.
Today, a report spread in this context, as StreamElements Agency, in cooperation with SullyGnomes, who specializes in monitoring Twitch views, released a report in which they monitored the reality of views of the broadcast of the games in the last quarter, i.e. the period between April until June 2019.
The report monitored views of Battle Royale games via Twitch, Youtube Live, Facebook Gaming, and Mixer, concluding with the result that views have declined dramatically in the last three months, and the biggest drop was Apex Legends, as it left the list of the ten most viewed games after getting 65.4 million hours of Views compared to 183 million hours in the first quarter.
As for the game PUBG, its broadcast hours decreased by 4.3% compared to the first quarter of this year, while Fortnite, which maintained the first place as the most watched game, also fell by 3.66%, achieving 300 million hours of views compared to 311 million hours in the first quarter.
Another report had revealed that League of Legends beating Fortnite as the most watched Twitch game in 2019.
